Summer Trackside Training

This is Pittsburgh’s premier summer performance program for youth athletes looking to gain a competitive edge across track sprinting, cross country, & field sports (soccer, lacrosse, football, ultimate, etc).

Our 10-week Trackside program is structured to develop top-end speed, strength, mechanics, and aerobic conditioning based on your athlete’s goals. It runs every weekday morning at Schenley Oval with strength training morning, afternoon, or evening at our gym in Point Breeze.  It’s a results-driven system built on proven methods that translate directly to performance.

Program runs June 17–August 23 (Monday–Friday)

Choose Your Sport:

Sprinters

  • Improve acceleration and top speed
  • Build strength for sprinting power
  • Increase endurance for holding sprint positions

Field Sports

  • Increase take speed and first-step quickness
  • Enhance agility, deceleration, and reactive movement
  • Build durability to reduce in-season injuries

Cross-Country

  • Improve form, mechanics, and running economy
  • Build aerobic capacity through tempo + long runs
  • Maintain form under fatigue to close races strong

  • Hands-on Learning (10:30am–12:00pm)
  • Choose 2 or 4 days/week
  • Topics include: Nutrition, Recovery, Strength Training Adaptations, Injury Prevention, and more
  • Real-world projects and deep insights
  • Daily post-training smoothies included to reinforce fueling and recovery
  • Held directly after Trackside + Lift (break to eat at 10:00am)

Program Schedule​

Daily Flow (M/T/Th/F):
  • 7:00am | Trackside Training (Sprint, Cross Country, or Field Sport Focus)
  • 9:00am | Gym Strength Training (if selected)
  • 10:00am | Recovery Nutrition + Smoothie
  • 10:30am–12:00pm | Sport Science Camp (if enrolled)

All track training is held at the Schenley Oval Track with strength sessions at GHP. Afternoon/evening options available for strength training.  Athletes may choose from multiple training tiers based on goals and availability.

Pricing

Trackside offers flexible membership options based on your athlete’s training goals and schedule.

Pricing ranges from $398 to $1,350 for the full 10-week summer program.

  • Our most popular training-only option includes 2 strength + 4 track sessions per week — a high-performance plan that balances speed, strength, and recovery.

  • The Sport Science Camp package includes everything: all training sessions, Saturday options, and the full sport science learning track.

The GHP Sport Science Camp is our newest offering, built to give your athlete the tools to understand why their training works and how to own their performance. This is about more than speed—it’s about building the habits, mindset, and knowledge of a next-level athlete.

Whether your child is chasing a scholarship, a varsity spot, or simply wants to stay healthy and ahead of the curve, this is where it starts.

Camp Highlights:

  • 2 or 4 days/week of hands-on sport science education (10:30am–12:00pm)
