All of our lives we get told about the importance of hydration. It's the most essential thing you need to do to stay alive and above staying alive, your hydration status can have major effects on your ability to perform, to think, how your emotions feel, and more!
Read below about why & how to stay hydrated!
WHY DOES HYDRATION MATTER
-Being hydrated makes your body function properly. Water is involved in MANY of the uncountable processes in your body.
-Hydration allows you to perform and train well. Dehydration leads to FATIGUE, HEADACHES, LIGHTHEADEDNESS, and poor practices and competitions
-Dehydration often leads to sluggishness since much of your body slows down and doesn't work well.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO BE HYDRATED?
Your urine should be clear. When you go to the bathroom, you shouldn't see yellow. Anything below this standard is SUBPAR and worth being deemed dehydration.
STAYING HYDRATED
-Carry water with you throughout the day as a constant reminder
-Or here is a schedule you can follow:
x2 glasses/bottle when you wake up
x1 glass/bottle EACH MEAL
x2 glasses/bottles 2 hours before bed
Doing this is simple and allows you plenty of opportunity to stay hydrated throughout the day.
